Hi Friends! I hope you are all enjoying your holiday season so far! Marc and I and the gang had the privilege this past week to kick off our holiday season with the Sofitel NYC family and our stay was absolutely marvelous! If you’re not familiar with this French-inspired hotel, Sofitel NYC is right in the heart of midtown just a few blocks west of Grand Central. What I admire about Sofitel Hotels is that each location draws inspiration from local culture and tradition, while celebrating innovation and the French art de vivre to offer a one-of-a-kind, luxurious hotel experience. From the design details – like the layout of the lobby – to it’s year round exhibitions and events, Sofitel is constantly staying true to it’s roots, while in my opinion standing out with it’s uniqueness!
This holiday season, Sofitel Hotels around the world competed and worked with designers to create their “Christmas Couture” theme holiday displays. I was truly blown away! Sofitel NYC worked with The Well Traveled Trunk to design their display, which consisted of 15 vintage Louis Vuitton trunks. Also a node to sustainable Christmas decorating, these trunks that have been collected from all over the world and are between 80-100 years old! How insane!? I can’t even imagine all the stories these trunks hold. And the coolest part is that they can all be purchased; so not only can you visit Sofitel NYC to check the display out, but you can also go home with one!
Back to our stay, our family checked in for our first family staycation last week! Since they’re dog friendly, we even brought Ralphie with us. Not only are they dog friendly, but they also have dog meals on the room service menu, ha! It’s the little things I truly appreciate!! The views from our room was absolutely incredible. I was blown away with the view of the Manhattan skyline – we could see both the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building from our room. Downstairs, we enjoyed a meal at Gaby the restaurant in the hotel. Even if you’re traveling through for a broadway show, keep this spot in mind! The entire menu was absolutely delicious. The next morning, we treated ourselves to a slow morning and breakfast in bed. This is one of my favorite things to do when I’m traveling. While we were enjoying the moment, it started snowing for the first time this year in New York and for the boys! I still can’t believe we watched our first snowfall from our room on the 27th floor. It was absolutely beautiful, and I know… I know… you can’t even make this stuff up, haha. It really was the perfect morning!
As far as location goes, Sofitel NYC is centrally located in the heart of midtown. It’s within walking distance to Fifth Avenue Shopping, Bryant Park, Grand Central, Central Park, Time’s Square, Broadway Shows, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall and so much more!! You are always asking me for recommendations, so I wanted to put this post together to make sure you all remember this spot the next time you’re in town or if you’re looking for a relaxing staycation in the city! If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below. Happy Holidays! xx A
