Last weekend, Marc had a TRULY brilliant idea! Now, I know I sound sarcastic, but I’m being serious, ha! He suggested we drive just north of Manhattan to check out the Wave Hill Gardens. Wave Hill Garden is a spectacular 28-acre public garden that overlooks the Hudson River and Palisades in the Bronx. I’ve only been to the Bronx for Yankees games and had no idea all of this beauty existed so close to the city! Haha. Wave Hill Garden’s colorful landscape is one of the most beautiful spots I have found in New York City. Marc and I walked around for hours taking it all in. There are also two beautiful mansions on the grounds that you can explore – one that is an art gallery and the other that has a cute cafe, so don’t forget to bring cash! You will also need cash for entry, and if you park your car on site. The drive took us about 25-30 minutes from Brooklyn, and we drove up to Wave Hill on a sunny Sunday. It was a perfect day! You can also get to Wave Hill Gardens by train (#1 Train to 242nd or Metro North to Riverdale), where a free Wave Hill shuttle can meet you. Just be sure to check out the times available on their website. 🙂 It really was so much fun exploring different parts of the city. If you’re looking for something to do over the weekend, Wave Hill Garden was the perfect getaway!
