Nothing inspires me more than visiting new cities! Last week, while I was in Washington, D.C. I stayed at The Mayflower Hotel. Walking through the front doors, I was taken aback by the grand entrance. From the two story lobby to the black and white tiled floors and enormous crystal chandeliers, there’s a reason this place is so special to our Nation’s Capital! The Mayflower will take you back in time – it’s like a time capsule full of rich American history (heart eye emoji). You can read more about that here.
Since 1925, this iconic landmark has had it’s grand presence on Connecticut Avenue – just four blocks away from the Whitehouse and minutes from other national landmarks. The hotel is also conveniently located near the Smithsonian museums, the National Zoo, The Verizon Center, and Georgetown. Don’t forget to check out the city’s Bike Share program, it was so easy to get around not to mention fun to ride bikes! 🙂 . While there is also ton of great food and restaurant options within walking distance, Edgar Bar and Kitchen was fantastic and is located inside the hotel (pictures below!). My favorite was the baby kale salad with salmon and avocado – ahh! It was so delicious! Locals, you should all add this spot to your D.C. bucket list!
During my stay at The Mayflower Hotel, I made sure to check out every corner. How could you not with the marble staircases and brass decor?! The Mayflower Hotel is absolutely gorgeous, welcoming and was one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in! If you’re looking for a venue to host your wedding or a spot to stay in Washington, D.C., The Mayflower Hotel is a winning ticket and is sure to inspire you. <3 Definitely looking forward to coming back soon!
