There are a BAH-gillion things I know now that I wish I knew when I was younger. So I’m starting a new sequence of getting MORE real with you all (not to say that I wasn’t before! I’m just trying to be more open about my experiences!) I know it goes without saying, but they’re right! Everything you have ever heard about catching, and well prioritizing your Zzz’s is right. Sleep makes you feel better and is a key part of a healthy lifestyle, which can benefit your heart, weight, mind and more. But wait? IF sleep is so essential for our bodies, why do I struggle to fall asleep every night? And I know I’m not alone in this. Apparently, 87% of Americans say they experience trouble falling asleep, which is crazy to me! It’s also one of the main reasons why I wanted to partner with ZzzQuil to share my experiences with you, hoping I can help someone who has had the same experiences that I’ve had because being tired all the time isn’t fun! 🙁
Now, I’m not going to get all Dr. Oz in you, but trust me – sleep = life, and I cannot believe that after 27 years I’m finally starting to realize that!!! As I’ve gotten older (and busier) I finally understand and appreciate every second of sleep I can get. I laugh now, because I don’t know why I would fight it when I was younger? I hated going to bed; all I wanted to do was to stay up late and wake up early. Coincidentally, now that I’m older (and wiser!) all I want is to sleep, and it’s a constant battle to get enough or MORE sleep.
My busy lifestyle has lead me to an even busier brain, which is constantly planning and thinking about what I need to do NEXT. Turning life off has always been a challenge for me, and now with being my own #BossBabe, planning a wedding and everything else going on it seems nearly impossible to tune out and make it all stop to go to sleep. I came across the “Real Sleep Challenge” when I went to Greece. I refused to let my sleepless habits interfere with my “trip of a lifetime”. So on the way to the airport, I grabbed a box of ZzzQuil for the plane ride and to have while we were there, and couldn’t believe how well it worked to mimic the new time zone and help me rest, when I would’v normally struggled! I also used it on the way back to help me get back on our normal time zone.
ZzzQuil is now more than a traveling essential for me; it really is a life saver! And the “Real Sleep Challenge” works!!! I love that it helps me fall asleep in as little as 20 minutes, get 7-8 hours of sleep and wake up feeling refreshed. I love my new healthier lifestyle, and I love not feeling like I need to rely on caffeine to not be a zombie all day long.
