New York Fashion Week 2017

Hi Loves! I am so excited to get my New York Fashion Week recap on the blog to share with all of you! As many of you may know by now, I work a full-time job outside of blogging, so it was truly such a great experience being able to do what I was able to do¬†in my time outside of work! It can be a challenge juggling both at times, but when you have two completely different passions – time management is your best friend! Fortunately, a majority of what I did for New York Fashion Week was over the weekend, in addition to some events and dinners in the evening during the week. For two amazing shows, I had a great visual of the floor and was able to get a couple videos of all the looks to share with you below! ūüôā I even added some notes on fashion trends and things to keep in mind for Fall 2017, so be sure to scroll all the way down to the bottom ūüôā

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: New York Fashion Week¬†can be an amazing experience. It really is a great opportunity where you¬†get to hang out and meet fellow bloggers, friends, role models, brands – these are all things that are honestly my favorite parts about New York Fashion Week. I LOVE being able to meet and chat with people who share the same passions as I do, and it’s fun to finally meet¬†people who you admire online IN real life. The Good is you will meet a lot of amazing, inspirational people that you can share a joke and a picture or two with. The Bad? Well, sadly – New York Fashion Week is also a time of judging. Who’s wearing what, who’s with who, who is seen where.¬†I’m going to dig into this whole idea at another time, but my only point is – it doesn’t hurt or cost anything to be friendly, to BE¬†inclusive and to smile. This goes above and beyond New York Fashion Week¬†too!¬†And the Ugly? WELL, haha. I just want to point out that my life isn’t as glamorous as it may look. I sprint to catch taxi’s and trains (commuter shoes for the win!). I shop during my lunch break for things to wear to events day-of (hehe.. can you say last minute?) Thank GOODNESS for Zara! Seriously. This red suit? I found this bad boy on Friday to wear Saturday (#winner). This is another thing I’m working on sharing more of – the behind the scenes I shall say ūüėČ If you follow me on Insta-story, you get a better glimpse of what my life is actually like, and hopefully will get a good laugh or two from it!

As I mentioned above, Saturday was my day to go ALL out. It started in the morning before the Taoray Wang show. I met with my girlfriends and fellow bloggers, Lauren Mazzei and Samantha Crompton. We were able to get a couple shots in before the first show, which was so fun! This was the first time of all my New York Fashion Weeks that I wore something out of my comfort zone, and I’m SOOOOO glad I did! This outfit was so much fun to wear! I absolutely adored this red suit and have never had so much fun in a look. It definitely brought back the whole, “Fashion is about having fun and self-expression”, and to be perfectly honest it really helped me break out of my Winter rut! I shared a ton of shots below – I’m sorry if it’s a lot of scrolling!! But there were just so many details and fun shots I wanted¬†to share!

Taoray Wang

The Taoray Wang Show was one of my favorites! The collection was sexy, classic, and simple; menswear inspired silhouettes with a feminine touch. This was the very first show I’ve seen where I loved everything. Every look left a lasting impression. Notes for Fall 2017: Blazers; Leather over-the-knee boots;¬†Lace details and undergarments; Subtle Pops of Color; High-waisted pants.

Francesca Liberatore

Francesca Liberatore was breath of fresh air – pastels, lace and maxi dresses. Dear Spring, I’m ready for you! The mixed-textures is definitely one thing to note! I love the layered looks, the transparent skirts, the ultra-feminine silhouettes. Another favorite thing from this show was the low ponies with a bow. Such a cute touch!
