Lace-up Booties

Hi Loves! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I cannot believe 2017 is finally upon us! While I have set aside pages full of notes and goals for the year (sharing those soon! ūüėČ , there is one thing that is extremely important to me and that is to live life to the fullest, take in and appreciate every moment (yessss, even in the 50 person line at Trader Joes!) and to explore the road less traveled. ¬†I have found while living in NYC that it’s so easy to get caught up in routines; and while I think routines are good to¬†some extent! By only living and doing certain experiences, you can miss what is right in front of you..

“Not all who wander are lost…”¬†

For me, it was this secret street in the heart of Manhattan, called the Washington Mews. If I didn’t get lost, I never would have found it and I’m so glad I did! Unlike any other street I’ve ever seen, I had a total, “Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore” moment! Haha. In case you were wondering! This street¬†was originally part of a¬†Lenape¬†trail, which connected¬†to both¬†the¬†Hudson and East Rivers and was first developed as a¬†mews¬†(row of¬†stables) that serviced horses from homes in the area – so cool!!!¬†Since the 1950s the former stables have served as housing, offices and other facilities for New York University.

“Wander often, wonder always…”¬†

So there you have it! A little unexpected history lesson about this cute little corner in NYC and an adorable winter neutrals look for you to shop below! ūüėČ Winter neutrals are my absolute favorite, but I have to say! These lace-up booties take the cake. I’ve always wanted a pair of tan lace-up booties and finally found the perfect ones with faux fur detail at Payless Shoesource. They totally inspired my entire look! And if you’ve been watching my InstaStories – you know I can’t get enough of these lace-up booties!!! They are so cozy and comfortable. I wore them all December long, and today I wore them all day long while exploring Brooklyn.

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”¬†

I think lace-up booties are a must this winter season. There are so many fun ways to style them, and for whatever reason I feel like Carrie Bradshaw when I lace them up! *hair flip*. There is something so inspiring about wearing something you wouldn’t normally choose, and I’m so glad I stumbled into a Payless Shoesource to find these, because these lace-up boots are now some of my favorite booties! I can’t wait to mix and match them with other great looks to¬†walk around the city in. Cheers to a¬†happy and healthy new year full of life and adventure!

XOXO
