Hi Loves! Happy Saturday! I’m always down for a good meal, and Marc suggested to take me out for brunch at ICI Brooklyn to cheer me up. At this point in time, I had been begging him for awhile now to get a puppy, and he was not budging! He was probably being the more reasonable and responsible adult, but come on! Some times ya’ just gotta live and do what makes the heart feel good!
We sat down for brunch – of course in a window seat, so I could see every single dog in Brooklyn walk by rubbing salt in my dog-longing wounds, haha (sad face). We went over the pros and cons, finances, day-care options, etc. etc. and he just kept saying, “no, it doesn’t make sense right now”. Not that I was TRYING to cry, I couldn’t help it! Tears were just flowing, I mean flowing! Uncontrollably too. And I knew I was being a baby, but every time I looked outside the window – BOOM! Another puppy dog walked past. Marc kept laughing, and I was laughing too, I’m sure everyone there thought we were breaking up, ha! Yeah, right! 😛 A girl just wanted a puppy.. and some brunch!
Side Note: I went back in to edit this post, because little did I know a week later, Marc would come back and surprise me and we went to pick up our little bundle of joy! 🙂 #winnerwinnerchickendinner #andaeggbrunch!
Okay, back to ICI Brooklyn because this place is awesome, even through my cry baby ways! Marc picked out this place, and I had no idea what to expect. When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised with how gosh darn cute it is! The entrance was adorable, and the restaurant sits in a old brownstone. We walked down, and even though the place was packed, we got a table right way (bonus points). The menu was perfectly sized and seasonal – so you know it’s fresh!
Long story short, ICI Brooklyn is awesome! And if you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods, I would highly recommend visiting it for brunch (although, I can’t wait to go back for dinner!). The food was delicious, the service was awesome, and the atmosphere was cozy and chic. It’s also a little more intimate of a spot, so I would recommend going with family, on a date or with a good friend! Just don’t go if you’re dreaming of getting a puppy 😉 …
I think we ordered half the menu, but the food smelled amazing and we wanted to try a bunch of different things! For my entree I ordered the Omelette de Saison, which was awesome! The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the vegetables included inside were deliciously seasoned. Marc ordered the Grilled Hanger Steak & Eggs – so manly! And he said it was delicious. And we cried and giggled over Thick Cut Bacon, Herb Roasted Potatoes and Cheddar Grits. I’m not a huge grits person, but these grits from ICI Brooklyn will change your mind!
